On August 8, 2024, Kahuna Va'a Portugal completed 4 years of activity in Portuguese waters. The kahuna has a history of more than 15 years at sea, previously in Brazil and now in Portugal. There have been many emotions so far, including the pandemic, many scares when we said the size of the canoe, many "no's", many visits to public agencies, captaincies, meetings with Captains, City Councils, and many lessons learned. But we never lost hope. We have always remained strong, persistent, and resilient because we have always believed in our purpose of bringing joy to people's lives through canoes and Va'a Culture, because, yes, canoes have that power. Va'a culture, when followed in its essence, is of enormous greatness where collectivity, positivity, and well-being come first. We seek this every day in our school and in our lives. Are we perfect? Not at all, far from it, we have a lot to learn, to evolve both as a company and as human beings, but it is certain that everything we do is with love and the desire to offer the best.
All this came from the dream of a convinced dreamer, Max Interaminense, creator and founder of Kahuna before in Brazil, precisely in Praia de Buraquinho, near Salvador and now Kahuna Va'a Portugal in Portugal.
May many more years of learning, love and growth come for our beloved Kahuna Va'a Portugal.
