Last Sunday, September 22, 2024, we did a 45km row.
Yes, that's right! We made history in Portugal.
We left from the Nautical Section of Alhandra Sporting Clube, where we were very well received by everyone, and went to the Marina de Oeiras, where Kahuna has one of its bases here in Lisbon.
When we did the route on Google maps it was marked 50km but in the end it was 45km rowing for 4 hours and 30 minutes.
An exercise both mentally and physically. The tiredness was real when we arrived at Marina but the pleasure and the feeling of accomplishment were even greater.
We set off along the Tagus River, through an area of calm waters, amidst a cloudy landscape, with the red sun rising lost in the clouds. It looked like a scene from a movie, the landscape was so beautiful. We passed the Vasco da Gama Bridge, Parque das Nações, Praça do Comércio, the Port of Lisbon, right next to a super tourist ship. We also passed Cais do Sobre, the Cargo Port of Lisbon, the Discovery Monument, the Belém Tower and from there we continued on to the Marina.
The last 10 km were the most difficult, in addition to the tiredness we also had to face a slight headwind. Nothing serious but it made the challenge even more challenging.
It was incredible! Pure overcoming and faith in what we believe and seek.
I thank the crazy people who took on this challenge. Cris de Paula, Paula, Pedro, Catarina, Junior, Rauf, Maria João, Paulo, Alphonse, you were amazing.
Thank you very much!!
